Thanks, Steve Ashe, for teaching the lesson this morning. For those who missed it, it came from the 4th section of The Book Jesus Read by Philip Yancey. The average person can name only 3 out of the 10 Commandments. Well, we named 9, but it took 30 class members to do so! (And this after Julie’s similar quiz a few weeks ago) Maybe the third time is the charm!

Mr. Yancey points out that it is when things are going well in our lives that our spiritual relationship with God is most at risk. When we are healthy, relationships are chipper, bank accounts full—that is when we tend to turn away from God and give ourselves the credit. Is this what concerned Moses the most about God’s deliverance? Did Moses sense that when life became comfortable, contented, and relaxed for the chosen that they would stray from God? Hmmm… makes you think.

Have a fantastic week! I hope to see you next Sunday~
