*We had a fabulous Sunday with the Genesis Class - 49 people in attendance. We missed alot of our regulars to the youth ski trip (we prayed for you!) and to those who missed due to a long weekend. See you next weekend!
Rick and Nan Richards are hosting a "SuperBowl" Genesis Party. Tentative details: 4 p.m SuperBowl Sunday - for shooting of skeet and a "Pig Pickin" to follow. All families are invited. Please bring a dish to share and a beverage (please, no alcohol). More details to follow.

Julie led us in Week 2 from "The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Families"
Our focus this week is on the process of generating a family mission statement and the benefits thereof.
We should begin with the end in mind. Proverbs: "Without vision, the people will perish".
Julie had handouts with potential questions we should ask ourselves to find out which principles we would like to govern our life and family.(this is from her handouts)
Step 1--Explore what your family is about. Listen with respect, restate accurately to show understanding, consider writing down the idea.
Step 2--Write down your family mission statement. Revise. Rethink.
Step 3--Use it to stay on track.
**Consider a marriage mission statement as well.
3 Watch Outs
**Don't announce it--it takes time and patience to have participation, communication. No involvement--No commitment.
**Don't rush it.
**Don't ignore it. It is in the living of it that the richest fruits come.
We then used this same principle and applied it to try and form a mission statement for Genesis Class. We did not complete the process but the discussion was very interesting and we all had opinions on what we want for our class.
Tune in next week for more from Julie.
Peace,
Michele
