Lesson

10/28/2007
Julie continued our discussion of Just Walk Across the Room by Bill Hybels. The greatest gift we can bestow upon others is to lead them to a relationship with the Lord. We can be a positive signpost to those who are misdirected or lost completely. When we cross that finish line into the pearly gates, cross it with as many people beside you as possible. Listen to those “proddings” from the Holy Spirit and leave your circle of comfort. Share your love and faith with others.

Today, we discussed chapter 5 and learned what the next steps are into taking that “walk” that Bill Hybels speaks of. Take a risk in engaging someone in conversation. Be with others while you relate to them in an earnest and deep way—whether it be neighbors, coworkers, or an athletic group. Be patient, take time, use perseverance, and tune in to what the Holy Spirit urges you to do. Opportunities will abound! Bill Hybel puts it this way: “Friends, life is too short for you not to show up. When the Spirit nudges you to walk across a ball field, a parking lot, or a hospital room- whatever- take the risk to show up.” Heaven will never be disappointed when the bottom line value is LOVE!

Next week, Julie has given us an assignment from chapter 6. You need to read this chapter before completing the assignment. We will be sharing our stories of faith. Write down your story that can be shared in 60 seconds or less—be sure not to sound “preachy” or judgmental. Sharing is encouraged, not mandatory!

Hope to see you at the social!

Love~
Beth
