*We had a fabulous Sunday with the Genesis Class - 49 people in attendance. We missed alot of our regulars to the youth ski trip (we prayed for you!) and to those who missed due to a long weekend. See you next weekend!
Rick and Nan Richards are hosting a "SuperBowl" Genesis Party. Tentative details: 4 p.m SuperBowl Sunday - for shooting of skeet and a "Pig Pickin" to follow. All families are invited. Please bring a dish to share and a beverage (please, no alcohol). More details to follow.

Lesson
Parable of The Debtors
Thanking My Savior
Background information of Jewish customs
Host supplies water to guests to wash feet
Host gives a polite kiss as an appropriate greeting
Host pours oil on guest heads – the oil was sweet or olive oil for pleasant smells and to make hair smooth & elegant.
Customary for uninvited guests to join a gathering in a house as an observer. The needy could eat the leftovers.
Read Luke 7:36 – 50
Compare Simon vs. the Sinful Woman
3 Questions in the story:
1. “Which of them will love Him more?”
2. “Do you see this woman?”
3. “Who is this who even forgives sins?”
Forgiveness: All or nothing, costly, final, free, received by Faith, public
How do we apply this in our lives? Are we more like Simon or the woman?
Small sinners are still sinners & need to repent.
We, like the debtors, have nothing with which to pay.
See you next week,
Beth Upton
